Embodiment Construction

[0020] The present invention adopts the principle of acupuncture points of traditional Chinese medicine, the algorithm of biological signal processing and the technology of manufacturing intelligent textiles to provide a snoring control method and device.

[0021] In ancient Chinese medicine there are 365 acupuncture points and are mapped on 14 main channels: one channel corresponding to each of the 12 internal organs, one channel along the spine (Du Channel), and another channel along the midline of the abdomen (Ren Channel).

[0022] The lung acupoints L1-L11 are illustrated in FIG. 1 . Each lung point has its own function in adjusting internal body organs, so as to achieve the purpose of treating disorders. (See http: / / www.acuxo.com / meridianPictures.asp? pointLU11 &meridian=Lung). For most individuals the LU7 or Meridian is located about 1.5 inches above the wrist, about 0.2-0.3 inches deep, on the inside of the arm. This point is beyond the styloid radius at the depres...

Abstract

An anti-snoring device and method for stopping a person from snoring. The device comprises a casing that contains a microcontrol unit and is adapted to be wearable on a person's limb. The casing is connected to a belt having an inner surface and an outer surface, and the belt comprises two electrically conductive wires. Each electrically conductive wire has one end being exposed to the inner surface of the belt and the other end leading from the casing. A microphone is also included into the device for detecting snoring sounds and communicating with the microcontrol unit. The device can detect snoring sound and send an electrical stimulation to an acupuncture point of the person to reduce or eliminate snoring.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a snoring control device. Background technique [0002] Snoring is produced by the vibration of an air-conducting tube located in the throat. During sleep, if the muscles in the throat become less elastic to keep the air passage open, snoring occurs. Loss of muscle elasticity results in narrowing of the air passages, ultimately resulting in insufficient airflow into the lungs. The drop in airflow is detected and the body automatically reflexes to breathe harder. Breathing harder creates more suction in the airway, which causes the walls of the throat to vibrate and flutter. Normally, snoring occurs when the soft palate vibrates. This flutter causes the pressure in the airway to vibrate, which creates noise when other structures in and around the airway vibrate. [0003] Snoring affects sleep quality. The snorer, the person he shares a bed with, and other family members can all be affected. About 1 / 3 of older adults snore...
