Embodiment Construction

[0018] The printing press 1 shown in FIG. 1 has two printing units 3 , 4 each having an inking unit 16 , 17 and a dampening unit 18 , 19 . The inking units 16 , 17 are used for metering ink and have servomotors which are connected to the control computer 5 of the printing press 1 . The ink dosed in the inking unit 16 , 17 can be dampened by means of the dampening unit 18 , 19 . The dosing of wetting agent in the wetting devices 18 , 19 can also be controlled by the control computer 5 . The dosed and dampened ink is first transferred in the printing units 3 , 4 to the forme cylinders 11 , 12 with printing plates and from there to the blanket cylinders 13 , 26 . From there, the printed image is transferred to the printed sheet 9 in the printing press 1 in the printing nip between the blanket cylinders 13 , 26 and the counter cylinders 10 , 28 . The printing material 9 is transported between the two printing units 3 , 4 by means of a transport cylinder 14 . The required new pr...

Abstract

A method for determining optimized ink presetting characteristic curves for the control of inking units in printing presses through the use of a computer, includes acquiring measured values on a printing material produced by a printing press within the context of a running print job, through the use of a color measuring instrument. The acquired measured values are compared with a color set point to be achieved, fluctuations in the acquired measured values are determined and, if fluctuations lie within a defined permissible tolerance band around the color set point, the computer generates a signal to adapt and store the ink presetting characteristic curves used for the running print job.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a method for determining by means of a computer an optimal ink presetting characteristic curve for controlling an inking unit in a printing press, in which the color produced by the printing press within the scope of the ongoing printing job is detected by means of a color measuring device The measured value on the substrate. Background technique [0002] An automatic operation by means of an operating mechanism in a printing press is known from DE 10 2004 033 056 A1. In this technology, the computer determines from the working state of the printing press and the printing job being carried out on the printing press the settings of the printing machine required for carrying out the corresponding printing job and instructs the operator to perform manual intervention at the correct moment. It is also proposed here to optimize the characteristic curve by means of recorded data of already carried out printing jobs. In this case, t...
