Problems solved by technology

Since these methods all use Itti’s model to build a saliency map, details such as edges will be lost during the operation, and when multiple targets appear in the image at the same time, the application of the attention window method to detect multiple salient targets will fail.

Embodiment Construction

[0028] Reference figure 1 The specific implementation steps of the present invention are as follows:

[0029] Step 1. Calculate the three low-level feature factors of local brightness contrast, global brightness contrast and edge of each pixel of the input image.

[0030] (1a) Calculate local brightness contrast

[0031] The Gaussian difference (Differential of Gaussian) function can effectively represent the difference between the center pixel and the surrounding area pixels, so the Gaussian difference function is used to calculate the brightness contrast in the local area.

[0032] Reference figure 2 , The calculation of local brightness contrast in the present invention is as follows:

[0033] First, use Gaussian function to smooth the input image:

[0034] I ( σ i ) = I ⊗ G ( σ i )

[0035] Among them, I is the original image of the input image, G(σ) is the Gaussian function, I(σ i ) Is the smoothed image, Is the convolution symbol;

Abstract

The invention discloses a method for automatically extracting interesting image regions based on a human visual attention system, which mainly solves the problem that the prior method for extracting interesting regions cannot extract a plurality of interesting regions and edge information. The method comprises the following steps: calculating the local brightness contrast, global brightness contrast and edge of an input image; fusing characteristic graphs corresponding to the three characteristics through global nonlinear normalization merging algorithm so as to generate a contrast graph; calculating the position characteristics of the input image so as to establish a weighting graph; establishing a saliency graph corresponding to the input image through the contrast graph and the weighting graph; and segmenting out the interesting regions of the input image according to the saliency graph. The method can effectively extract a plurality of interesting regions in the input image, and is used in the technical field of image analysis and image compression.

Description

Technical field [0001] The invention relates to a method for extracting a region of interest in an image, in particular to a method for extracting a region of interest in an image by simulating a human visual attention system, and is used in the technical fields of image analysis and image compression. technical background [0002] With the rapid development of computer network communication technology, the Internet to provide information services, especially image information, is developing rapidly. [0003] Image information has a huge amount of data, and how to effectively process image information has become a research hotspot in image information services. For the human visual system, the information provided by images is not equally important everywhere. Some areas of the image provide the main content that people need to understand the image, called the region of interest; while other areas only provide some minor background content. Finding out the region of interest in a...
