specific Embodiment approach

[0017] Specific implementation method: Since 2006, we have used high-joint head-changing technology to cultivate silver-leaf Japanese privet in the new forest variety breeding base of Nanjing Forestry University in Xinminzhou, Jiangsu, Zhenjiang. A set of scientific methods has been summed up in the selection of rootstock, selection of scion, grafting time, interface treatment and post-grafting management in the process of Japanese privet.

[0018] 1. Grafting time: Grafting in early spring is generally carried out from March 10 to mid-April, with March 15 to March 30 being the best. During the three years from 2007 to 2009, the grafting work started on March 10 and ended on April 20. The survey results show that: the survival rate of grafting from March 15th to the end of March was very high, reaching over 95%; the average survival rate of grafting before March 15th and in April was only 83%. That is, the survival rate of grafting showed a normal distribution from low to hig...

Abstract

The invention discloses novel application of the high-head changing grafting method to cultivation of solver-leaf ligustrum liukiuense and in particular relates to a method for cultivating solver-leaf ligustrum liukiuense by the high-head changing grafting method. The method comprises the following steps of: cutting the trunk of a privet at the height of 160 to 180 cm by taking the privet as a stock and the solver-leaf ligustrum liukiuense as a cion, performing high-head changing by grafting technology, and after 2 to 3 years of oriented cultivation and crown shaping, cultivating a solver-leaf ligustrum liukiuense finished seedling with bright colour of the crown, long brightness effect, beautiful tree shape and high appreciating value. The success rate is over 95 percent. The application of the technology provides an ornamental tree variety with bright colour of the crown and long brightness effect for the afforestation of areas in the north ofYangtze valley, particularly in the north of Jiangsu Province and coastal cities in Shandong Province, and changes the condition that evergreen species are mainly privet and are single in the areas. The method has popularization value and wide market prospect.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention belongs to seedling cultivation technology and relates to a new application in the field of seedling cultivation of a high-joint and head-changing grafting method, in particular to the application of a high-joint and head-changing grafting method in cultivating silver-leaf Japanese privet. Background technique [0002] Silver Leaf Japanese Ligustrum alias Silver Frost, scientific name Ligustrum japonicum ‘Jack Frost’, is a species of Ligustrum japonicum Thumb. The leaves are leathery, the young leaves are green, and the edges are pink. The edges of mature leaves turn from pink to light yellow gradually, and a few of the old leaves will all turn green. The panicles are terminal, the flowers are white, and the flowering period is from May to June. It maintains eye-catching effects all year round and has high ornamental value. Its growth rate is slightly slower than that of the golden leaf Japanese privet, and the thickness of the branches ...
