The invention discloses a new 
nutrient solution 
seedling raising method of 
Ligustrum japonicum'Howardii', which adopts the technical scheme that 
seedling raising pools are designed to be 1m wide and 0.2m deep, with no limitation on the length (determined according to the field condition), and the interval between the pools is 0.4m; plastic folding frames are arranged in the 
seedling raising pools to serve as carriers to support the seedlings; and the 
nutrient solution at the initial stage is 
ferrous sulfate with the concentration of active substance being less than 0.05%. A proper amount of 
nitrogen-
phosphorus-
potassium mixed 
fertilizer can be added after new roots grow out one month after 
cutting, and the concentration of total active substance is still no more than 0.05%. The new soilless seedling raising method includes the steps of: before 
cutting, selecting an annual half lignified 
branch at length of 10-15cm with 2-5 leaves at the upper part; 
cutting out one third of each leaf through scissors; soaking the cutting wood in alpha-
naphthylacetic acid at concentration of 20mg / L for 20-30 seconds; setting up sunscreen 
canopy frames outside the seedling raising pools and covering sunshade nets or 
straw mulch on the sunscreen 
canopy frames; and obliquely cutting the cutting wood on the plastic folding frames. According to the method disclosed by the invention, the 
nutrient solution is simple to prepare, wide in source of 
raw material and low in cost, and the carriers for supporting the seedlings are durable in use and convenient to use. Tests show that the 
survival rate of the seedlings reaches above 90%, and labor cost and production material cost can be saved by more than 700RMB per 10 thousand seedlings.
