Abstract

The invention relates to a backup method based on proxy operation. Great limits exist on the software choices of the traditional backup method. The method comprises the steps of: establishing a data reading script by a proxy layer through management software responsible for disk data source access and reading operation, and establishing a backup script on a magnetic tape end by the proxy layer according to backup data acquired through the data reading script and a backup strategy of a user per, wherein the proxy layer can manage and execute the data reading script and the backup script. In the invention, the backup method based on proxy operation is adopted so that more freedom can be provided for a user on the selection of software on two ends, and thus, the backup efficiency is improvedand the expandability and the robustness of the integral backup technology are improved.
