Problems solved by technology

However, the current network and terminals before the R8 version only support connecting to one network at the same time, that is, when connecting to the IPv4 network, the IPv6 network cannot be connected unless the IPv4 network is disconnected first; and vice versa
Moreover, whether the network is reset by IPv4 to connect to IPv6 or the network is reset to IPv4 by IPv6, end users need to manually perform corresponding connection operations. For most ordinary mobile phone end users, they may not understand IPv4 / IPv6 Due to the technical problems of network connection, it is unrealistic to require ordinary users to artificially judge the need to establish an IPv4 / IPv6 connection and manually connect to the IPv4 / IPv6 that needs to be established
At present, there is no effective solution to the unrealistic problem of manually connecting IPv4 / IPv6

example 1

[0067] Example 1: If figure 2 As shown, this example is the process of downloading and updating the priority connection parameters through the air interface (OTA, Over TheAir) after the terminal is powered on. The process includes the following steps:

[0068] Step 201, the terminal starts up and accesses the current network.

[0069] Step 202, the terminal initiates an OTA download request.

[0070] What needs to be pointed out here is that there are currently three ways of OTA downloading, namely downloading via Wireless Application Protocol (WAP), downloading via Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP), and downloading via SMS. Since OTA downloading is a mature technology, here Do not describe in detail.

[0071] Step 203, the download server responds to the OTA download request of the terminal.

[0072] Step 204, the terminal downloads and updates the priority connection parameters currently preset in the terminal.

[0073] Here, downloading and updating specifically inclu...

[0075] Example 2: If image 3 As shown, this example is the process for an IPv4 / IPv6 dual-stack terminal to intelligently connect to the network and use services. The process includes the following steps:

[0076] Step 301, the terminal starts to use the data network.

[0077] Step 302, the terminal inquires whether the value of the current priority connection parameter is 0 or 1, if the value of the current priority connection parameter is 0, then jump to step 303; if the value of the current priority connection parameter is 1, then jump to step 309.

[0078] Step 303, the terminal initiates an IPv4 connection PDP activation request, and after receiving a successful response from the network, establishes an IPv4 connection and registers in the IPv4 network.

[0079]Step 304 , after the terminal successfully registers to the IPv4 network, if the service currently used by the terminal has a peer address reachable, the terminal uses the current service normally, and the process...

Abstract

The invention discloses a method and system for connecting an internet protocol version 4 (IPv4) / IPv6 dual-stack terminal with a network. The method comprises the following steps: configuring a network priority connection strategy, and selecting an initial priority connection network in accordance with the network priority connection strategy; and according to existing network demands, automatically resetting the network to connect to the IPv4 / IPv6 network. The invention also discloses a system for connecting an IPv4 / IPv6 dual-stack terminal with a network. The system comprises a network connection selection unit and a network connection reset unit, wherein the network connection selection unit is used for selecting the initial priority connection network in accordance with the configured network priority connection strategy; and the network connection reset unit is used for automatically resetting the network to connect to the IPv4 / IPv6 network in accordance with the existing network demands. The method and system provided by the invention are used, thus the same terminal supporting the IPv4 and the IPv6 can be automatically connected to the IPv4 / IPv6 network.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to the communication field, in particular to a method and a system for connecting a network with an Internet Protocol Version 4 (IPv4, Internet Protocol Version 4) / Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6, Internet Protocol Version 6) dual-stack terminal. Background technique [0002] The Internet widely used in the world is based on the IPv4 protocol. IP addresses are represented by 32 bytes. There are about 4 billion IP addresses in theory. In fact, only half of the addresses are available due to various restrictions. Moreover, considering that the demand for IP addresses will increase significantly due to the development of 3G terminals, Internet Protocol (IP) phones, and home networks in the next few years, professional organizations predict that the global IPv4 addresses will be allocated in the first half of 2011. [0003] On November 7, 1994, the Internet Engineering Group (IESG, Internet Engineering Steering Group) offici...
