Abstract

The invention discloses an interactive pointing device. The interactive pointing device comprises an image capturing component and a processing unit, wherein the image capturing component can be operated in a first capturing range and a second capturing range, and the image capturing component is used for capturing a light source and outputting a video signal. When a distance between the interactive pointing device and the light source is less than a reference value, the processing unit controls the image capturing component to detect the light source in the first capturing range, and converts the video signal into a first coordinate data; and when the distance is greater than the reference value, the processing unit controls the image capturing component to detect the light source in the second capturing range, and converts the video signal into a second coordinate data. Meanwhile, the invention also discloses a capturing range switching method.
