Abstract

The noise figure of a low noise amplifier (LNA) is reduced without sacrificing performance such as gain, IIP3, and wideband impedance matching. Embodiments include configuring a control module of the LNA to sum and scale an output from a current-sensing branch of the LNA and an output from a voltage sensing branch of the LNA into one or more summed and scaled outputs. The control module also feeds the one or more summed and scaled outputs back to at least one of the outputs of the branches of the LNA.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to an amplifier, and in particular to a balance-to-unbalance amplifier (Balance-to-Unbalance amplifier, Balun amplifier, hereinafter referred to as a balance amplifier). Background technique [0002] In the field of wired communication and wireless communication, emerging broadband communication technologies have emerged one after another, such as: Handheld Video Broadcasting (DVB-H) (470-890MHz) and Cognitive Radio (0.1-10GHz) Wait. Since a low-noise amplifier (LNA for short) is configured in the first-stage circuit of the receiver, the characteristics of the LNA will directly affect the overall performance of the receiver. Therefore, when dealing with wideband performance, designers will face more challenges, including how to design LNAs with wideband input matching and gain bandwidth. However, in order to achieve the aforesaid effects in traditional methods, the characteristics of noise figure (NF) are usually sacrifi...
