The fax shielding device comprises a communication interface, a first buffer, a storer, a DSP (digital signal processor) and a printer, wherein the communication interface is connected to a telephone connection port; the first buffer is connected to the communication interface and used for buffering fax data; the storer stores preset fax numbers and keywords; the DSP is connected to the first buffer and the storer and is used for receiving the fax data, comparing the fax data with the fax numbers and the keywords in the storer through a comparator, shielding the fax data when match items are included, and transmitting the fax data to a second buffer when match items are not included; and the printer is connected to the second buffer and used for printing the fax data.
