The method comprises steps as follows: counting the accepted request volumes of the clients and the refused request volumes of the clients within preset time according to received business requests sent by the clients; allocating quotas for the clients according to importance degrees of the business requests of different clients, wherein the quotas show proportions of the request volumes of the clients in the rated request volume of a server; determining the current load of the server according to the accepted request volumes of the clients or the refused request volumes of the client, the quotas allocated to the clients as well as the rated request volume of the server or the total request volume received by the server within the preset time; sending the current load of the server to the clients.
