Abstract

The invention relates to a method for detecting a deviation of an actual injection amount from a target fuel injection amount of an injector in an internal combustion engine with at least two injectors, wherein the at least two injectors are driven to deliver the target injection quantity to speed the rotational speed of the internal combustion engine from an initial rotational speed to a target rotational speed. The actual speed is detected in a period and a change of the actual speed per unit time is determined as the speed gradient, and a parameter related to the rotational speed gradient is determined and is compared with a standard interval. A deviation of the actual injection quantity from the set injection quantity of an injector of the at least two injectors is recognized, when the parameter related to the rotational speed gradient is out of the standard interval.
