The method comprises the following steps that: S1, the client side sets the wireless access point to a client side mode; S2, the client side is connected with a wireless router to be tested through the wireless access point; S3, the client side operates the request sending module to send a predetermined number of source address requests of different physical addresses to the wireless router to be tested through a preset rule, and is connected with the wireless router to be tested; and S4, a wireless client side list of the wireless router to be detected is viewed, such that the maximal number of the connectable wireless users of the wireless router to be detected can be obtained.
