Abstract

A portable access control communication device is proposed comprising: a housing for protecting a key device, an access control communication device; a socket arranged to accommodate a blade of the key device, the socket comprising a A connector for communication with the key fob; a cellular radio communication module; and a controller. The controller is arranged to communicate access management data with the access control device via the cellular communication network using the cellular radio communication module when the key device is provided to the outlet such that there is electrical contact between the key device and the outlet.
