Abstract

The invention discloses a mechanism and a method for reverse gear mistake prevention for a manual transmission. The mechanism comprises a wheel speed sensor, an ECU, a relay and a locking mechanism, wherein the wheel speed sensor is connected with the ECU; the ECU is connected with the locking mechanism through the relay; the locking mechanism is installed on a reverse gear position of the manual transmission; the locking mechanism comprises a motor and a stop sheet; a control end of the motor is connected with the relay; the stop sheet is ejected or retracts under the control of the motor; and the stop sheet is clamped in a groove at the reverse gear position while being ejected. The ECU detects the current vehicle speed condition through the wheel speed sensor, and in case of a forward running process of a vehicle, the stop sheet of the locking mechanism is controlled to be ejected by virtue of the relay so as to lock a reverse gear, and a driver cannot engage a gearshift lever in the reverse gear; and in the case that the current vehicle speed is zero or in case of backward running of the vehicle, the stop sheet retreats, and the gearshift lever can be engaged in the reverse gear. According to the scheme, the driver can be prevented from engaging in the reverse gear by mistake to damage the vehicle during the running process, thus the running safety is improved.
