Embodiment Construction

[0028] Figure 1 shows an embodiment of a device 1 for forming balls of yarn according to the invention in (a) perspective view, (b) plan view and (c) longitudinal section view. The device 1 forms a rigid unit in the sense that it does not comprise any parts movable relative to each other. It can therefore be called a fixed component.

[0029] The device 1 comprises a container 2 having an inner space 21 which is circularly symmetrical about a vertical axis a. In the embodiment of Fig. 1, the container 2 has substantially the shape of a part embedded in a ring. The container 2 is formed in the present embodiment by a thin wall 3, for example made of sheet metal, preferably steel or aluminium. The wall 3 thus defines an inner wall 31 and an outer wall 32 in the interior of the container 3 . The insert ring is defined by a circle arranged in a horizontal plane, the center point of which lies on the axis a. The inner space 21 is closed inwards and opened towards the inside, ie...

Abstract

The device (1) serves for forming a ball of yarn. It contains a container (2) having an internal volume (21) which is outwardly bounded partially by an internal wall (31) in the vertical direction and completely by the internal wall (31) in the horizontal direction. The internal wall (31) has an inlet opening (41) through which the yarn can be shot into the internal volume (21) by means of an air flow. The internal wall (31) is rigid. The internal volume (21) has a downwardly open outlet opening (22) for a yarn ball formed in the internal volume (21). A lower part (33) of the internal wall (31) is inclined downwardly towards the outlet opening (22). By virtue of the rigid construction, the device is simple and cost-effective. Possible problems with moving parts are dispensed with.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to the field of testing yarns. It relates to a device for forming balls of yarn and a device for weighing yarn according to the preceding parts of the corresponding claims. Background technique [0002] To determine the yarn quantity (yarn mass per unit length or yarn length per unit mass), a specific length of the yarn to be tested is measured, separated from the rest of the yarn and weighed. The lengths of yarn need to be brought into the platform of the precision weighing machine to be weighed, which advantageously takes place in the form of yarn balls. [0003] A module for determining the number of yarns is described in US-5,025,660 A. In this module, yarn formation takes place in a circular symmetrical vessel consisting of a bell-shaped cup and a plate-shaped weighing platform. The yarn enters the cup by blowing it through a tube which opens tangentially into the cup from above in an oval fashion. In the chamber ...
