The method comprises the following steps: dividing an inputted facial image into blocks for a plurality of image blocks; carrying out convolution filtering to each image block based on the filter group; performing LBP coding to each image block after the process of convolution filtering so as to obtain a plurality of FBLBP values for each image block; making statistics to the obtained plurality of FBLBP values for each image block; obtaining the FBLBP histogram features in each filter mode and combining the FBLBP histogram features in all filter modes in the filter group sequentially as the FBLBP histogram features of the image block; and sequentially extracting the FBLBP histogram features of each image block; concatenating the FBLEP histogram features to develop the histogram feature vectors of the facial image.
