The method comprises the steps of receiving an original electrocardiosignal, and acquiring an electrocardiosignal to be extracted by performing power frequency trapping on the original electrocardiosignal; computing a wavelet entropy according to the electrocardiosignal and a pre-selected mother wavelet, acquiring an optimization parameter of the mother wavelet by using the computed wavelet entropy, thus acquiring the optimized mother wavelet; performing wavelet transform on the electrocardiosignal by using the optimized mother wavelet, and extracting a respiratory signal from the electrocardiosignal; and computing a current respiratory rate according to the respiratory signal.
