The battery charging control method comprises the steps of detecting the working state of a preset data transmission control switch; detecting whether or not the terminal conducts data transmission of a preset class if the working state of the preset data transmission control switch is detected to be a connecting state; switching the working state of the preset data transmission control switch from the connecting state to a disconnecting state if it is detected that the terminal does not conduct the data transmission of the preset class; triggering the terminal to arrange a recognition pin of a universal serial bus interface to be a universal input /output interface mode with low level output according to the disconnecting state so as to conduct battery charging on the terminal. According to the battery charging control method and device and the terminal, through the method of arranging the recognition pin of the universal serial bus interface of the terminal to be the universal input/output interface mode with the low level output, the problem that the terminal can not be charged which is caused by OTG wrong response brought by the situation that the recognition pin of the universal serial bus interface of the terminal is in short circuit with the pin of a ground electrode can be avoided.
