The embodiment provides a method for backstage application program cleaning. When preset timer time is reached, a lingering duration expected value of a backstage application program is determined according to a preset fuzzy rule base, an importance degree value of the target application program and a power consumption value. Hence, the determined lingering duration expected value is compared with an actual duration value. When the comparison result indicates that the expected value is smaller than the actual duration value, the target backstage application program will be cleaned. In other words, in addition to reference to a power consumption degree of a backstage application, referential factors of the importance degree of the backstage application towards a user are introduced; fuzzy rules are used for comprehensive decision and determination of whether the backstage application needs to be cleaned; hence, during cleaning of the backstage application, the problem that the user does not hope that the backstage application with the high importance degree is cleaned, but the backstage application is still cleaned accidently can be avoided; and the user can experience electricity-saving effects better in a more humanized manner.
