The method comprises the steps of collecting original video images; selecting a reference frame image; reading a current frame image; calculating motion vectors: horizontal offset, vertical offset and a rotation angle through adoption of a motion estimation method based on an object-sky curve; filtering the motion vectors; compensating the motion vectors; and outputting a stabilized image. According to the method, according to the features of the images collected by the ship-bone device, when the motion vectors are estimated, the deficiency of the existing method is overcome, the new motion estimation method based on the object-sky curve is provided, and the image stabilization function of the ship-bone device is realized. According to the method, the translation quantity and the rotation angle of the current frame image relative to the reference frame image can be calculated rapidly and accurately, the operation quantity is low, the precision is high, the timeliness of an algorithm can be improved, the accuracy of the algorithm also can be improved, and the method has good robustness.
