The system comprises a bracket, an image identifying unit and a central control unit, wherein the bracket is used for fixing an image collecting part; the image identifying unit is used for identifying green leaves in an image, and quantizing the leaf color value of the green bladesleaves; the centralcontrol unit is used for calculating the porosity and canopy leaf area index according to the image element distribution of the green leaves, and calculating the nitrogen condition value of the leaves according to the leaf color value; the class of the nitrogen nutrient condition of the rice canopy is diagnosed according to the canopy leaf area index and leaf nitrogen value. The system has the advantages that the green leaf image element is identified according to the color difference between the leaves and soil background, so as to calculate the canopy porosity and leaf color value; the leafarea index is calculated according to an empirical formula of porosity and leaf area index, and the nitrogen value is estimated according to an empirical relationship of the leaf color value and thenitrogen condition; then, the leaf area index is multiplied by the nitrogen value to obtain the nitrogen value of the rice canopy; the nitrogen nutrient condition can be simply, quickly and quantitatively diagnosed under the farmland condition.
