Abstract

The invention provides a belt brake for a windlass. The belt brake for the windlass comprises a upper brake band (1), a lower brake band (2), a brake block (3), an adjustment screw(5), a pull rod (6),a set square (7) and a braking operation assembly (8). One end of the pull rod (6) is connected with the upper brake band (1) through a pin shaft. The other end of the pull rod (6) is connected witha first hole of an ear plate of a windlass seat (9) through the pin shaft. The lower brake band (2) is connected with one end of the adjustment screw (5) through a nut pin. The other end of the adjustment screw (5) is connected with a first angle of the set square (7) through nuts. A second angle of the set square (7) is connected with a second hole of the ear plate of the windlass seat. A third angle of the set square (7) is connected with a cylinder piston extending rod of the braking operation assembly (8). When free anchoring is conducted, smooth operation of the windlass is guaranteed, impact to a device is reduced, labor intensity of sailors is reduced, safety of people and the device are guaranteed, and safe, stable and efficient anchoring of the windlass is achieved.
