The composition comprising an extract of Justicia procumbens L. of the present invention can inhibit the abnormal hyperplasia of spleen cells, inhibit the secretion of allergic inflammatory cytokines, and exhibit a sputum-releasing effect and an airway contraction-inhibiting effect, and thus can effectively prevent, treat or ameliorate respiratory diseases.
