The system comprises a first measurement unit for measuring the mass of a gas of a preset volume; a tracing unit which is used for adding tracing gas; asecond measuring unit which is used for measuring the gas mass of a preset volume; and a calculation unit which is used for calculating the free volume of the to-be-measured room. The system is advantaged in that the tracer gas method is adopted, the volume of the free volume is measured through the change of the injected mass volume of the tracer gas, the test period of original iterative computation is greatly shortened, the measurement workload of the volume of sundries in the free volume in iterative computation is reduced, and measurement precision of the free volume is improved.
