Access devices and related methods are disclosed that generally involve flexible or adjustable cannulas that have a substantially cylindrical insertion configuration and a substantially conical expanded configuration. Various methods and features are provided for transitioning the cannula from the insertion configuration to the expanded configuration while the access device is inserted through tissue to form a conical opening through the tissue. Examples include cables, biasing elements, retaining elements, bimodal rings, and coil springs. The devices and methods disclosed herein can allow for improved retention of the access device, improved angulation of instruments passed through the access device, and can increase the integrity of a seal formed between the access device and surrounding tissue.

An evacuable bag or container for items which benefit from being stored in a vacuum environment by reason that the bag or container is impermeable to air or liquid, with a first opening for entrance or closure purposes, which first opening has a zipper sealing closure adjacent thereto and integral with said bag or container for closing and opening purposes, the sealing integrity of which is aided by atmospheric and/or differential pressures, and a second opening, with an exit-only valve therein, for connection purposes to an external vacuum source, by which means said bag or container can be evacuated of air or liquid. An injection port assembly including a body having first and second mating structures configured to mate with a first connector for a first fluid pathway and a second connector on a device, respectively. A resilient barrier substantially contained within the body and compressible from a first position in which fluid flow between the first and second connectors is blocked to a more compressed second position in which fluid flow between the first and second connectors is permitted. A hollow cannula can be coupled with the first mating structure and disposed within the resilient barrier, the hollow cannula having a distal end configured to extend through the resilient barrier when the resilient barrier is in the second position, the distal end having lateral slots. The resilient barrier can have first and second annular sealing rings positioned above and below the lateral slots respectively.

According to the invention, a patch is provided to be attached to the outside of the wall of the bag over the profile strip fastener assembly that is attached to the front panel of the package. The patch is made from a gas barrier type of substrate as to prevent oxygen and other gases from entering or leaving the perforations within the opening feature used to access the fastener assembly. The side of the patch that is in contact with the front panel of the bag includes an adhesive for securement to the package. A logging plug is disclosed having an internal sealing mechanism therein which provides a high degree of sealing integrity between the bore of the plug and a coiled tubing or other means of suspending wellbore equipment running therethrough. Plastic containers subjected to pasteurization processes with a closure having an annular finish support ring that supports an inner surface of the neck finish of the container from inward deformation during pasteurization. The finish support ring can be integral with the closure or can extend from a closure liner. Also disclosed are closures for products that require pasteurization, as well as modified finish threads to provide a surface contact between the finish and closure threads.

Method of injection moulding a plastics component includes providing a first mould member with a mould cavity, defined by an internal surface, and a second mould member with an external surface complementary to the mould cavity shape. Either the internal or external surface carry an elongate formation with an elongate apex. Then, the second mould member is advanced into the mould cavity such that the apex is spaced from the opposed one of the internal surface and the external surface by a predetermined distance and the internal surface of the first mould member and the external surface of the second mould member together define a mould space. Molten polyolefin material is then injected into the mould space to substantially fill it. A multi-layer metal gasket includes at least on active layer and at least one shim layer having aligned combustion holes. A process for manufacturing a compressed gas tank that includes a combination of an injection molding process and a rotomolding process. In a first step, a boss to be positioned in the opening of an outer structural layer of the tank is provided and a thin portion of the liner is injection molded to the boss so that a channel within the boss is filled with the liner material to increase the seal integrity between the boss and the liner. Once the liner material is hardened, the surface of the injection molding liner portion is cleaned. Next, a rotomolding process is performed to mold the remaining portion of the liner to the boss. During the rotomolding process, the injection molded portion of the liner melts to be part of the liner made during the rotomolding process.

A valve is provided. The valve includes a body provided with fluid passages for circulating fluid therein. The body has a body interface with ports connected to the fluid passages. The valve also includes a valve element having a valve element interface facing the body interface. The valve element can move between different positions so as to permit or obstruct communication between the fluid passages. A biasing element biases the valve element interface against the body interface. A load varying mechanism is provided to load the biasing element with different sealing load forces according to the different positions of the valve element. The method can be widely applied to high-temperature high-pressure gas wells as well as unconventional multi-segment high cracking gas wells, especially to evaluate selection and applicability of threads of well-completion tubing strings of deep and ultradeep wells inTarim and southwest oil and gas fields.
