Problems solved by technology

[0010] The disadvantage of this concept is that, even with this concept, it is not possible to create any particle positions, but only stereo panning between two speakers adjacent to the impact position of the raindrop, using the direction about the listener
Also, doesn't create any ideal rain sound for the listener

Embodiment Construction

[0030] figure 1 Shows a rough schematic diagram of the apparatus of the invention for producing a loudspeaker signal at output 10 for a loudspeaker channel associated with a loudspeaker (eg 403) which may be installed at one of a plurality of loudspeaker positions in a reproduction environment . specifically, figure 1 The preferred embodiment of the device of the invention shown comprises means 12 for providing audio signals of audio sources occurring at different positions and times in the audio scene. The device providing the audio signal is typically a storage medium in which is stored an audio signal representing eg: the sound of impacting raindrops or different particles, e.g. approaching or disappearing spaceships, a herd of horses / cows for space computer games The hooves of horses or cows etc. According to the invention, the audio signal of the audio source is permanently stored in, for example Figure 4 The renderer's wavefield synthesis renderer, and therefore do...

Abstract

Disclosed is a particle generator for generating a loudspeaker signal for a loudspeaker channel in a multichannel reproduction environment. Said particle generator comprises a position generator (14)for providing a plurality of positions in which an audio source is to occur, and a time generator (18) for supplying times during which the audio source is to occur, a time being allocated to a position. An individual pulse response generator (16) is also provided for generating individual pulse response data for each of the plurality of positions. A combined pulse response is formed by a pulse response combining unit (20) to combine the individual pieces of pulse response data according to the times during which the same occur. Said combined pulse response is finally used for adjusting a filter (21), with the aid of which the audio signal is finally filtered.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to audio signal processing, and more particularly to audio signal processing in systems comprising multiple loudspeakers, such as wave field synthesis systems. Background technique [0002] Figure 4 A typical wave field synthesis scenario is shown. At the heart of the wave field synthesis system is a wave field synthesis renderer 400 that generates a specific loudspeaker signal for each of the individual loudspeakers 401 clustered around the reproduction environment. Specifically, between the wave field synthesis renderer 400 and each loudspeaker, there is a speaker channel through which the wave field synthesis renderer 400 transmits speaker signals for the respective loudspeakers. On the input side, the wave field synthesis renderer 400 is provided with control data typically set in a control file 402 . The control file may include a list of audio objects, each audio object having a virtual location and an audio signa...
