A synchronous method of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing symbol timing for multi-path fading channel environment, which is specially used for the OFDM system under the multi-path fading channel environment. Concretely, it includes following steps: 1) judging time range of the window starting point of effectively sampling for non-symbol interference in receipt signal; 2) processing preliminary sampled signal, using it to recover the OFDM signal; 3) obtaining the symbol timing estimate by coherent detection.
