Abstract

The invention discloses a device which can automatically switch into a host or peripheral equipment with universal series bus (USB) and a relative method. In a device with USB interfaces, the inventive device can automatically switch into a USB host or USB device via checking USB handshake protocol. The inventive device comprises a host mode component, a peripheral mode component, a random automatic switcher and a check component, wherein the random automatic switcher uses random time to process switch connection between the host mode component and peripheral mode component, the check component detects if the handshake protocol between the D+ and D- pins of the USB interface and an external USB device meets host mode or device mode. When the inventive device checks that the external USB device is host device, the inventive device can switch into a peripheral device, and when checks that the external USB device is peripheral one, the inventive device switches into a host device.
