The invention discloses a user model building method with privacy protection, which comprises the following steps of: (1) performing multilevel processing to historical data of user use Web information service to form into a multilevel user model, wherein each node of each level comprises user information; (2) setting privacy parameters corresponding to each level of the user model; and (3) computing the user information defined by the privacy parameters though comentropy to obtain the exposure degree of user privacy. By processing and analyzing the historical data of the user use Web information service, the method forms into the multilevel user model, sets the privacy parameters to each level of the user model, and computes the exposure degree of the user privacy though the comentropy when offering the service quality of the corresponding level when a user selects any one of privacy parameter, so that the user can balance and select the service quality and the privacy exposure degree.
