Embodiment Construction

[0046] The automatic repair method of the RAID system proposed by the present invention is as follows: on each disk slot interface of the RAID system, a circuit for controlling the disk to realize separate power-off and power-on is provided; when a certain disk of the RAID system cannot respond to the IO operation, first Attempt to automatically repair it by powering it off and on. If the purpose cannot be achieved, start the hot spare disk for rebuilding.

[0047]If the disk can be repaired through power-off and power-on processing, some stripes in the RAID system may have been written during the process from when the disk fails to respond to IO operations to when the disk is powered on again (of course, all stripes may be without any write operations). In order to avoid the situation that some stripes have been written, it is necessary to record the stripes that have been written during the process of power off and power on, and restore the contents of these stripes.

Abstract

The invention discloses a self-repairing method suitable for a redundant array of independent disks (RAID) system. In the RAID system comprising a plurality of disks, a circuit for controlling each disk to realize independent power off and power on is arranged on a slot interface of each disk. The method of the invention comprises the following steps: A, when a first disk as a member disk in the RAID system can not respond to IO operation, carrying out independent power off treatment on the first disk through the circuit, and then carrying out independent power on treatment on the first disk; and B, judging whether the first disk can respond to the IO operation; if the first disk can respond to the IO operation, finishing self-repairing on the RAID system; and if the first disk can not respond to the IO operation, starting a hot spare disk to reconstruct the RAID system. The invention also discloses an RAID system. The scheme of the invention can avoid using the hot spare disk to carry out reconstructing operation in many cases, thus improving the performance and reliability of the RAID system and saving the disks.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to the technical field of computer storage, in particular to redundant array of independent disks (Redundant Array of Independent Disks, RAID) technology, in particular to an automatic repair method suitable for RAID systems and the RAID system. Background technique [0002] As the foundation and key component of the network storage system, RAID is famous for its fast speed, large volume and high reliability. After the emergence of RAID technology, the application requirements in various fields such as industry, military affairs, and education are very extensive, and the research on RAID technology has always been a hot spot in the industry. [0003] The hot spare disk refers to the disk used as backup under normal circumstances, not for data storage; only when a disk damage occurs in the RAID system and the RAID member disk fails, the hot spare disk automatically replaces the failed RAID member disk to store data. The pr...
