Abstract

The invention provides a method and an apparatus for implementing long-distance ranging detection, the method including: a base station receiving two continuous OFDM (orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) signals of a mobile station, eliminating prefixes of the two OFDM signals respectively to obtain a first OFDM symbol and a second OFDM symbol; performing a fast Fourier transform respectively for the first OFDM symbol and the second OFDM symbol to obtain a first OFDM symbol carrier sequence and a second OFDM symbol carrier sequence; performing an operation on the second OFDM symbol carrier sequence and detecting whether a ranging symbol is included in the second OFDM symbol, if yes, performing an operation on the first OFDM symbol carrier sequence to eliminate phase ambiguity, or else, ending the ranging detection.
