Problems solved by technology

[0020] After step 101, RNC needs to send the IP request message that comprises ECHO request message to SGSN, but, RNC does not know the IP address of SGSN, just can't send IP request message to SGSN; This makes ECHO interactive failure, can't utilize ECHO The interaction mechanism detects whether the user plane transmission path of MBMS on the Iu interface is smooth; correspondingly, the corresponding processing of subsequent MBMS data cannot be carried out normally, that is, the RNC cannot release MBMS related resources when the path is not smooth
[0021] Based on the above analysis, for the existing MBMS data transmission scheme, for the case where the originator is RNC and the replying party is SGSN, there will be a problem that the ECHO interaction fails and the corresponding processing of MBMS data fails.

Embodiment Construction

[0038] In order to make the object, technical solution and advantages of the present invention clearer, the present invention will be further described in detail below in conjunction with the embodiments and accompanying drawings.

[0039] The present invention adds a field for indicating the SGSN IP address in the MBMS session start message. In this way, when the initiator is the RNC and the responder is the SGSN, the RNC can learn the SGSN IP address, and report to the corresponding SGSN according to the SGSN IP address. Send an IP request packet including an ECHO request message to detect whether the transmission layer path of the MBMS user plane on the Iu interface is smooth.

[0040] see figure 2 , is a flow chart of a method for transmitting MBMS data in the present invention, the method comprising the following steps:

[0041] In step 201, the SGSN sends an MBMS session start message to the RNC, and the MBMS session start message carries the SGSN IP address.

Abstract

The invention discloses a method and a system for transmitting multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS) data. The method comprises the following steps that: a serving GPRS support node (SGSN) sends an MBMS session start message to a radio network controller (RNC), and the MBMS session start message carries an internet protocol (IP) address of the SGSN; an initiator and a replying party perform ECHO interaction, and the initiator sends an IP request message to the replying party, wherein the IP request message comprises an ECHO request message, the IP address of the initiator and the IP address of the replying party; and the initiator correspondingly processes the MBMS data according to the situation that an IP replying message which comprises an ECHO response message and is replied by the replying party is received in a set time period, wherein the IP replying message also comprises the IP address of the initiator and the IP address of the replying party. The scheme of the invention can avoid corresponding processing failure of the MBMS data.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (MBMS, Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service) technology, in particular to a method and system for transmitting MBMS data. Background technique [0002] The invention relates to a scheme for transmitting MBMS data on the user plane of the Iu interface between the Serving General Packet Radio Service Support Node (SGSN, Serving GPRSSupport Node) and the Radio Network Controller (RNC, Radio Network Controller). [0003] During the process of transmitting MBMS data on the user plane of the Iu interface, the SGSN needs to actively initiate an ECHO interaction to determine whether the path between the SGSN and the RNC is smooth. If it is smooth, send MBMS data to the RNC; if it is not smooth, stop sending the MBMS data to the RNC. MBMS data, and release pre-allocated MBMS-related resources, the MBMS-related resources include resources for transmitting MBMS data and other MBMS-related r...
