Abstract

Methods and apparatus are described relating to a peer-to-peer wireless communication system (102, 104) for supporting secure advertisement of identification and / or discovery information (132), such as upper layer discovery information. Incorporating air interface timing and / or other information received from third devices (112) such as beacons and GPS transmitters into the calculation of identification / discovery information (207), which ) is transmitted from the first device to the second device.
