The invention discloses a synchronous replay system for multi-channel audio and video and a method of the synchronous replay system. The synchronous replay system for multi-channel audio and video comprises an application program module, a file reading filter, a multi-channel file separating filter, a decoder, a representation filter, and a display card or a sound card, wherein the application program module is used for transmitting instructions and receiving events; the file reading filter is mainly used for interacting with an external media source and reading data from source files; the multi-channel file separator filter is used for requesting data frames away a certain distance from a time sign from the source files of each channel according to the time sign to be played; the decoder is used for further processing the data transmitted from the multi-channel file separator filter and converting the processed data into video frame images acceptable by the file reading filter; the representation filter is used for rendering the final data to the display card or the sound card; and the display card or the sound card is used for playing the final data. According to the invention, multi-channel video and audio data can be played in a user-defined format, and the synchronization error is controlled within in a visible range of human eyes.
