The method comprises the following steps of: sending a downloading request of configuration files to an superior node according to a preset rule; downloading the configuration files from the superior node, wherein the configuration files are preset with downloading information of a target file; acquiring the downloading information of the target file from the downloaded configuration file, and downloading the target file according to the downloading information; and using the downloaded target file to update a corresponding local target file. The method provided by the invention is used to solve the problem that the timely acquiring of the new version of the application cannot be ensured due to manual application program updating of a user in the prior art.
