Abstract

The invention provides a navigation prompting method and device which are used for solving the following problem: no matter which driveway is the navigation object on, the existing navigator prompts all monitor units in front of the vehicles, and thus, can not implement precise prompting, thereby disturbing the attention of the driver. The method comprises the following steps: determining the current number of road and number of driveway of the navigation object according to the current position coordinates of the navigation object and prestored electronic map data; determining the type of monitor unit of the current driveway; and when the distance between the navigation object and the monitor unit on the current driveway reaches the previous prompting distance, sending corresponding prompting information according to the type of the current driveway or the monitoring type of the monitor unit on the current driveway. According to the technical scheme, the corresponding prompting information can be sent according to the type of the current driveway of the navigation object or the monitoring type of the monitor unit on the current driveway, thereby implementing precise prompting without disturbing the attention of the driver.
