Abstract

The invention discloses a lossless information embedding and recovering method in a format data stream. The method comprises the steps of storing addition information about information embedding in a head part of the data stream, operating the load of the data stream to produce a redundant bit used for embedding the information, thereby realizing the aim of embedding information in the data stream with a common format and recovering the data stream and embedded information without distortion. The method specifically comprises the following steps: firstly computing a difference value between a maximum value and a minimum value in the data stream, comparing the difference value with nth power of 2 (n is greater than 0 and less than 8), and then computing embeddable information amount under various conditions, and performing the information embedding by selecting a condition that the embeddable information amount is maximal; after receiving data, a receiving end extracting the embedded information in the format data stream and recovering original data.
