Abstract

A method for energy demand management in a production line with multiple stations. The method includes calculating slack times for the production line or selected stations and determining options for operating mode flexibility. Additionally, the method includes performing a feasibility analysis of options and providing a solution based on resilience measures. The method is supported by mean analysis techniques and discrete event simulation. The method provides automatic energy auditing and analysis tools in production systems.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] This application claims benefit under 35 U.S.C. § 119(e) of U.S. Provisional Application Serial No. 61 / 696,944, filed September 5, 2012, entitled Situation Study on Energy Demand Management in Production Lines, which is adopted This reference is incorporated herein in its entirety and this application claims the benefit of priority therefrom. technical field [0003] The present invention relates to energy demand management, and more particularly to a method for energy demand management in a production line with multiple stations, wherein said method is supported by mean value analysis techniques and discrete event simulation. Background technique [0004] Energy costs (including electrical power costs) have risen dramatically recently and are expected to continue to rise in the future. Those costs reflect increases in fuel and operating prices, as well as increased costs in power generation and transmission plants. ...
