Abstract

The block search and orthogonal matching pursuit based video converting and encoding method comprises the steps that motion estimation is conducted on current encoding blocks to obtain time prediction values, and residual errors of the current encoding blocks are obtained based on the time prediction values; best matched blocks of the current encoding blocks are searched based on space neighborhoods and time prediction of the current encoding blocks, and a dictionary for orthogonal matching pursuit OMP transformation is obtained by utilizing a clustering algorithm; OMP transformation is conducted on the dictionary for the OMP transformation by using the residual errors of the current encoding blocks to obtain transformation coefficients, and video transforming codes are completed. By the adoption of the method, good energy clustering degree can be reached, and accordingly the compression efficiency can be improved. In addition, the computation complexity of the transformation is lower than that of signal dependent transformation, and convenience is brought to decoding.
