Abstract

According to the breeding method, Baixi pigs and Duroc are hybridized to introduce the characteristics of the high lean meat percentage and rapid growth of the Duroc; meanwhile, the Baixi pigs and the Duroc are hybridized to obtain Bai-Duroc hybrid pigs to increase the growth speed and the lean meat percentage. But as the meat quality of the Duroc is poorer than that of the Baixi pigs, on the basis of obtaining the Bai-Duroc hybrid pigs, the meat quality is improved by introducing Baixi pigs different from the hybrid female parent, and finally the Bai-Duroc pigs in the target strain are obtained through transversely-fixed copulating of the Bai-Duroc hybrid pigs. The finally-obtained Bai-Duroc strain has high lean meat percentage genes and rapid growth genes of the Duroc and local feature genes of the Baixi pigs; by means of the pigs in the strain, the slow growth characteristic of the Baixi pigs is improved, meat is fresh, fine, smooth and mellow while the high growth speed and the high lean meat percentage are achieved, and economic value and feeding value are guaranteed.
