Embodiment Construction

[0019] A hearing device is disclosed. The hearing device may be a hearing aid, wherein the processor is configured to compensate for a user's hearing loss.

[0020] The hearing device comprises an antenna for converting one or more wireless input signals (eg the first wireless input signal and / or the second wireless input signal) into an antenna output signal. The wireless input signal comes from an external source, such as a paired microphone device, a wireless TV audio transmitter, and / or a distributed microphone array associated with the wireless transmitter.

[0021] The hearing device includes a radio transceiver coupled to the antenna for converting antenna output signals into transceiver input signals. Wireless signals from different external sources may be multiplexed in the transceiver to the transceiver input signal, or provided as separate transceiver input signals on separate transceiver outputs of the transceiver. The hearing device may comprise multiple antenna...

Abstract

The present invention discloses a method of operating a hearing device and a hearing device. A hearing device includes: an antenna for converting a first wireless input signal of a first external source to an antenna output signal; a radio transceiver coupled to the antenna for converting the antenna output signal to a transceiver input signal; a set of microphones comprising a first microphone for provision of a first microphone input signal; a pre-processing unit connected to the radio transceiver and the first microphone for pre-processing the transceiver input signal and the first microphone input signal; a processor for processing input signals and providing an electrical output signal based on the input signals; a receiver for converting the electrical output signal to an audio output signal; and a processing controller comprising a direction estimator configured to estimate a head direction of a user of the hearing device; wherein the hearing device is configured to select and apply a processing scheme based on the estimated head direction.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a hearing device with adaptive processing and a method of operating a hearing device. In particular, the invention relates to hearing devices with wireless audio streaming from an external source. Background technique [0002] With the continuous development of wireless communication technology, there are more and more wireless communications to and from hearing devices. However, in order to mimic normal hearing and the human brain's perception of sound, the new technology presents new challenges for hearing aid manufacturers. Connecting the hearing device wirelessly to an external microphone enables the audio stream to be obtained from an external sound source that streams directly to the ear. This is an effective way to improve external sound source perception and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). However, this approach means that the hearing-impaired person is locked onto that source and cannot easily focus on other sound sour...
