The invention discloses a silybum marianum formula of a blood-activating and swelling-diminishing drug. The formula is characterized by containing the following components by weight: 20g-40g of herbaephedra, 12g-40g of algae, 20g-40g of radix stephaniae tetrandrae and 20g-40g of hypericum japonicum. A method comprises the steps of putting herba ephedra, algae, radix stephaniae tetrandrae and hypericum japonicum into a traditional Chinese medicine pot, adding a proper amount of water (properly covering two times of volumes of the components), carrying out decoction for 50 minutes with soft fire, filtering, putting 1000ml of solution into a container for storage, and taking 40ml of the solution once at an interval of 3h, so as to cure the disease after 3 days. Preferably, the formula contains the following components by weight: 22g-30g of herba ephedra, 15g-30g of algae, 25g-30g of radix stephaniae tetrandrae and 20g-30g of hypericum japonicum. Most preferably, the formula contains thefollowing components by weight: 25g of herba ephedra, 20g of algae, 25g of radix stephaniae tetrandrae and 20g of hypericum japonicum.
