Abstract

The invention discloses a dual-mode visible light communication method and a dual-mode visible light communication system, the method comprises the following steps: converting a symbol corresponding to first original data into a multi-level signal; modulating second original data pulse width according to the multi-level signal to generate a RS-VPPM symbol signal, wherein each UPWM symbol period contains a plurality of continuous RS-VPPM symbol signals; converting the UPWM symbol signal into an optical signal; receiving the optical signal through an under-sampling mode, and obtaining an averagebrightness value in each UPWM symbol period; according to variation of the average brightness value with time, restoring the first original data; through a rolling shutter mode, obtaining a stripe image of each RS-VPPM symbol, and restoring the second original data; calculating a duty ratio of a RS-VPPM signal according to the stripe image, and restoring the first original data. An apparatus comprises a symbol mapping module, a UPWM modulation and demodulation module, a RS-VPPM modulation and demodulation module, a camera, a data restoring module, and so on. The method and the system providedby the invention take account of the characteristics of relatively higher transmission performance, flexible application scenes and low complexity.
