Disclosed is a battery ventilation device (10) and, more particularly, a multifunctional breathing and ventilation device applied to a casing of one of a battery sub-module, a battery module, or a battery system, and the ventilation device (10) comprises: a housing (20) attached to a vent opening of a battery casing in a sealing manner and including at least one sidewall (21); an air-permeable filter (30) for separating the interior (91) of the battery casing from a breathing chamber (22) inside the housing (20); a ventilation membrane (40) for separating the breathing chamber (22) from an external environment (92) in an airtight manner; and a breathing part (50) fluidly connecting the breathing chamber (22) to the external environment (92) and bypassing the ventilation membrane (40). Furthermore, disclosed is a battery comprising the ventilation device attached to the battery casing. The ventilation device and the battery comprising the same, according to embodiments of the present disclosure, can be applied to electric vehicles and energy storage system (ESS) battery packs.
