Abstract

The invention discloses a flat panel display, in particular a PAM flat panel display characterized by low energy consumption. The flat panel display includes a current reference generator for generating a data driving current reference supplying a driving current proportional to a size of input data from the outside, and a charging / discharging current reference according to a difference in data size between scan lines; and a data-driven output device for directly supplying currents corresponding to respective current references to the display panel. The advantage of the flat panel display is that by adjusting the data-driven charging and discharging current according to the size of the input data, the amount of the discharging current that has no practical effect on light emission is reduced, thereby reducing the total energy consumption.
