example 1

[0040] 200 OK

[0041] ...

[0042] CSeq: 1 REGISTER

[0043] ...

[0044] X-multimedia-service-enabled: CW=yes, CCW=yes, CND=no,

[0045] DVC=WD6035, SP=SPT

[0046] Example 1 is a message sent from a SIP proxy server (acting as a registrar) that informs the account that only Call Waiting (CW) and Cancel Call Waiting (CCW) services are subscribed, but not Calling Number Delivery (CND) Serve. The emulated device is a Kyocera 6035 phone (DVC=WD6035) and the service should follow Sprint usage (SP=SPT). After receiving this header field in the "200 OK" to REGISTER message, the SIP phone should stop displaying the calling number to the user for the entire registration period, even if the phone already has this capability built into it. The client device will use a Sprint Kyocera 6035 device with key mapping, as this phone feature uses these keys for Sprint-proprietary (Sprint-flavored) features.

example 2

[0048] INVITE customer@x.com SIP / 2.0

[0049] ...

[0050] X-multimedia-service-enabled: CW=no, DVC=SEI202, SP=VRZN

[0051] Example 2 shows a header field that, when present in an INVITE message or a response to an INVITE message, can be sent to an endpoint on a per call basis. The message is sent from the SIP proxy server to the called party terminal device. For this incoming call, the header field indicates that call waiting service should not be provided, even if the user subscribes to this service. This is useful when the caller does not want his call to be held on hold. After receiving this header field in the incoming INVITE message, the SIP phone shall treat the incoming call as if the called party does not have the call waiting function. Furthermore, the end device mapping shall be that of a Siemens SNO202 SIP phone, where the user's profile representation is displayed at the called party site, and the service shall be mapped for use as a Verison feature.

Abstract

The invention discloses a method for remote service forwarding (RSF) between dissimilar systems with operator, service and location portability. A remote service forwarding (RSF) system allows the telephone service user to access the subscribed services via different access devices without the loss of service. The system allows a user to access different systems or uses dissimilar phone devices or different service providers by porting services over an IP connection. The user may access subscribed services such as Centrex or PBX services over a mobile IP connection.

Description

[0001] This application claims priority to US Provisional Patent Application No. 60 / 527,361, filed on December 5, 2003, the contents of which are incorporated herein by reference. technical field [0002] The present invention relates to digital telephones. More specifically, the present invention relates to mobile switching centers, IP telephony, hosted PBXs (hosted PBXs), and enterprise PHS networks. Background technique [0003] In one known remote call forwarding (RCF) solution, the user calls a telephone number that has been forwarded to a new location, the forwarding being unknown to the calling party. When the user's originating local exchange sends a signaling message to the apparent terminating local exchange, the originating local exchange camps on the call. When a signaling message arrives at the original terminating local exchange via the CCS7 network, the exchange polls the subscriber line to determine its status (eg, whether the subscriber line is available, b...
