Benefits of technology

[0002] This invention illustrates a simple cost effective device used in toilets to save water. The water saving device allows the user a viable option not available in prior inventions.
[0003] Another objective is to conserve and use water more efficiently by diverting water directed into the overflow / drain tube into the water tank reducing the amount of water required in the toilet bowl and overall flush cycle.
[0004] Another objective is to divert water directed into the overflow / drain tube into the water tank reducing the flush cycle time.

Problems solved by technology

There have been many inventions designed to save water in the toilet flush system but they do not accomplish the features that are described in this invention without costly, time consuming and labor intensive work.

Embodiment Construction

[0009] With reference to FIG. 3, when the toilet is flushed, the water refill valve mechanism allows water to enter into both the tank and the attached refill tube. The other end of the refill tube is attached to the water saver adapter device (FIG. 1). The water entering the refill tube is discharged into the water saver adapter device (FIG. 1). The water saver adapter device is comprised of three openings. Opening A (FIG. 3) is attached to the refill tube (FIG. 1). As the water flows into the water saver adapter, a volume of water flows into opening B (FIG. 2). Opening B is substantially greater than opening C (FIG. 3). Opening B has directional downward spouts, which directs the diverted flow of water into the water tank. Opening C (FIG. 3) directs the remaining water flow into the overflow / drain tube, which empties into the bowl.

Abstract

When the toilet is flushed, the water fill valve is activated and water begins to flow through the intake valve seat into the tank and refill tube. The refill tube's flow is directed into the overflow / drain tube, which empties into the bowl. The water entering the tank is retained in the tank and begins to accumulate until a predetermined level is reached. When the predetermined level is attained, the water intake valve closes and all flow into both tank and refill tube stops, until the next flush cycle is invoked. The water saver adapter prevents excess water from entering the overflow / drain tube during the flush and refill cycle by diverting a significant volume of water back into the water tank.

Description

BACKGROUND OF INVENTION [0001] This invention is a water saving device for toilet systems employing a flush valve connected to a refill tube draining into an overflow / drain tube system. It is installed into any toilet system described above. There have been many inventions designed to save water in the toilet flush system but they do not accomplish the features that are described in this invention without costly, time consuming and labor intensive work.
