Clivia miniata (Natal lily, bush lily, Kaffir lily) is a species of flowering plant in the genus Clivia of the family Amaryllidaceae, native, growing in woodland habitats in South Africa (Eastern Cape, Mpumalanga and KwaZulu-Natal provinces) as well as in Swaziland. Given suitable conditions it grows into large clumps and is surprisingly water wise. It is also reportedly naturalized in Mexico. It is a popular plant for shady areas and is commonly seen growing in older established suburbs in most Australian states. It is also popular in New Zealand, Japan, China and the USA, particularly California.

Aeroponics method for kaffir lily

The invention discloses an aeroponics method for kaffir lily. The aeroponics method includes the following steps: 1, nutrient solution mother liquor is prepared; 2, refrigeration storage is carried out; 3, the three kinds of nutrition solution mother liquor are mixed according to a corresponding ratio and diluted; 4, the diluted mixed solution is evenly sprayed to roots of the kaffir lily; 5, in the aeroponics cultivation process, similar plant hormones are added; 6, the similar plant hormones are evenly sprayed to the roots or leaves of the kaffir lily; 7, cultivation is carried out till maturity occurs. Compared with the prior art, the aeroponics method has the advantages that as the nutrition solution mother liquor A, the nutrition solution mother liquor B and the nutrition solution mother liquor C are respectively prepared, and extra anti-corrosion bacteriostatic agents are added, effective storage is achieved, and moss in the aeroponics technology is effectively reduced. According to the aeroponics method, as an aeroponics device is used in cooperation, growth of aeroponics seedlings can be accelerated, and nutrition growth of plants can be completed in advance and switched into reproductive growth as soon as possible. Related nursery stock tending work such as rapid propagation and seed selection of the kaffir lily is more facilitated.

Method for in-vitro rapid propagation of clivia miniata by using mature embryos as explants

The invention belongs to a plant propagation method, and particularly relates to a method for the asexual rapid propagation of flowers. The method utilizes the technique such as detoxification, inoculation and callus induction of explants, induction of adventitious shoots, root induction and transplant of regeneration plants for the asexual rapid propagation of clivia miniata. When the method is used, the selection of raw materials is not limited by seasons, the method is suitable for agrobacterium-mediated transgenes, and the silence of the transgenes is overcome to some extent; the mature embryos from ten plants of mature clivia miniata are used as the explants, and the dedifferentiation rate and the differentiation rate both reach 70 to 100 percent; the regeneration coefficient is high, and an original callus tissues can grow into hundreds of cluster buds by repeated sub-culture; the rooting rate of the cluster buds is 100 percent, and the transplanting survival rate is 100 percent. When the method is used, the clivia miniata in different varieties can mass propagate the plants which have the same genetic background and smooth appearances in a shorter time; and after the plants are transplanted, the growing state is good, the cost for the average individual-plant regeneration seedling is low, and the method is suitable for industrialized production.
