The prefilter 3 is arranged close to the bottom 1 of the storage container 4 and is connected to the fuel delivery unit 2 via a connecting line 5 . Storage container 4 may be a fuel tank of a motor vehicle. The fuel delivery unit 2 has an electrically driven fuel pump 6 , by means of which fuel is drawn from the bottom 1 of the storage tank 4 via the prefilter 3 and delivered into a feed line 7 , which leads to a not shown internal combustion engine.

Abstract

The invention relates to a preliminary filter (3) for a fuel delivery unit (2) of a motor vehicle, with a filter fabric (11) which is tensioned by a supporting edge (12). The supporting edge (12) is manufactured integrally with a connecting piece (5) for connection to the fuel delivery unit (2) and with transverse webs (13) and supporting ribs (14). By this means, the preliminary filter (3) is composed of particularly few components to be assembled and can be manufactured particularly cost-effectively.
